Welcome Back, Special Olympians!  Our division may be called PaddleAll now, but make no mistake - it's all about our Special Olympians! 

 

You really made a name for our Club on the racecourse last season.  We are so proud of the medals you won (including at NATIONALS!) and we're even more proud of the tenacity, character, and heart you showed us when the medals were out of reach.

What's in store for this season?

• Will we have some cool new games?

• Will we get to the fountain?

• Will there be waaaay too much singing?

• Will the Banana Man show up? 

• Will we we all be paddling straighter, faster, and farther by the end of the season? 

• Will Coach Sherra fall in the water - again?

Yes, yes, and ...probably!  But our biggest news this season is that we have an AMAZING New Coach who paddles for Team Canada in super long races all over the world!  Coach Zoe can't wait to meet you, and get started on our exciting season.

New paddlers will start off in Touring (recreational) kayaks, and when they are comfortable, will have the option to try surfskis and Pro (racing) kayaks.  When paddling surfskis and Pro kayaks, tips will happen - it's part of learning the sport. Our safety boat will always be nearby ... just in case!

There are 2 regattas early in our season:  July 13, and July 26 or 27 (both at Rideau Canoe Club).  Athletes are eligible to race when they can steer independently and hold their position at the start line.  PaddleAll athletes can race in either Touring or Pro kayaks.  Double the fun by pairing up with another Special Olympian in a K-2, or with an able athlete or coach in Unified K-2 races.
