Youth Paddling Camp
Peterborough Canoe & Kayak Club is excited to build on it's existing program to provide a full-day paddling camp for youth in the Peterborough and surrounding area. Our new and improved camp will provide a safe place for kids aged 7-14 to learn the sport of Sprint Racing and Stand-Up Paddle boarding as well as explore our weekly themed programming!
Our youth paddling camp creates a fun environment where kids can learn the basics of sprint canoe/kayak in an individual and team environment. Our weekly schedule is based on the Canoe/Kayak Ontario template that coincides with Canada’s LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) Plan. We welcome all participants no matter what their experience is in watercrafts.

New PCKC Badges
Introducing the new Peterborough Canoe & Kayak Club badge levels that paddlers are able to earn throughout the summer. By completing the tasks for each level paddlers will earn the corresponding badge!
Most families are unaware that their is a flatwater canoe/kayak club right in Peterborough! Our boats are designed for short races with maximum speed.
At Peterborough Canoe & Kayak Club we aim to use paddling as a way to build strong paddlers, but more importantly, develop character. Becoming a great paddler takes practise and hard work.
Our camp is designed to achieve this will also allowing kids to have fun on the water! As our campers progress and gain experience so will their training routines. We teach paddlers to excel as individuals and as part of a team in order to be successful!
For youth programs, we recommend your child bring the following:
- Bathing suit, towel and plastic bag for wet items
- Hat and sunscreen
- Water bottle (can be refilled)
- Lunch with drink
- Closable lunch kits (to prevent any seagulls from stealing it)
- Running shoes (sandals can worn, but not recommended for outdoor activities)
